I was just thinking all religions seem to have the same basic start – one person’s theories.
How to start a religion:
1. Observe some aspect of the universe.
2. Invent a theory that is consistent with what you have observed.
3. Use the theory to make predictions.
4. Test those predictions by experiments or further observations.
5. Modify the theory in the light of your results.
6. Go to step 3 and make new predictions.
Is there really anything other than that, to the start of any religion ever created?
The many years of sarcasm from my relatives – there are 264 Atwater’s last time any one counted and that was abut 5 years ago, not sure how many there are today- has resulted in my writing a 900 page thesis on what I do and do not believe in regards to religions and than me constantly quoting from that has resulted in several hundred people (non-relatives) telling me I should start a religion based on it because no religion out there has the same theories I do . I’m starting to believe that may very well be true – 15,000 religions in the world and I can’t find one that has the same theories I do
LDS and SDA are the closest, though neither is 100% the same as what I believe.
What’s your take on this? I’d love to hear what you have to say about this post. Leave a comment and share your views!
