So my novel is based around the regeneration of a mad scientist’s brain tissue and the transfer of that brain to a new body. I know, a lot tohandle, but my mad scientist died in 1894 in a small village in Romania. He’s waking up in the future… not too distant future, say another 50 years? He’s waking up in a London Research Hospital with, as you can imagne, all sorts of new technology and resources on his hands.
I don’t exactly have a plot, but I don’t want to just throw that out to all of you to chew on, because you have your own plots to figure out!
So I’m just going to inquire: What sort of things will my MS be doing or getting into? Something I can work an idea off of.
Thank you in advance!

WOW! I would definatly read this!
He would have died in a time when books by Jules Vern, Mary Shelly, Edgar Alan Poe, and H.G.Wells were being written, so he’d be thinking of stuff like “The Island of Dr Morue”, “Food of the Gods”, “Frankenstein” and “20,000 Leagues Under the Sea”.
But than he’d be waking up in a time when scientists in Texas and Japan are cloning sheep and cats, as of 2007 many endangered animals in zoos are now clones, as of 2008 in Japan $150k will get you a clone of your cat or dog, in 2006 scientists in France took a brain dead man and made the first cyborg, in 2009 scientist crossed jelly fish with rabbits to create green glow in the dark bunnies for boutique pet stores in France, astronauts go to the moon about every 6 months now, a probe is on it’s way to Jupiter, and last month Planet Gleise 581 was declared the first planet discovered that is suspected of having human-like life living on it – a probe has been sent to contact life on G581 and will arrive there in 2029.
That is where we are in right now today. 50 years ago, cloning and cyborgs were a myth of science fiction, today they are real. 50 years ago airplane travel was relatively new and space travel and life on other planets was laughed at as impossible. 50 years ago color TV was the ravings of a lunatic, today we not only have color tv, but computers, iPods, and more. If we have come that far in 50 years, think where we will be 50 years from now?
Now take your scientist – a man from a time when clones, moving pictures, and space travel were the ravings of madmen, and here he is waking up in a future where they are part of every day life? The first thing that came to my mind was all those “Giant Monster” movies from the 1950′s, like “Them!” with the giant ants, or “Attack of the Killer Shrews” with the giant rats, etc.
Your scientist is going to be thinking about the stuff he grew up with and seeing the stuff we have now and 50 years from now, and he’s going to use that to create havoc. He’s going to be like iRobot or Matrix or Jurassic Park or I Am Legend or Resident Evil, he’s going to create something so big, so advanced, and so devious that it’s going to take all the governments in the world to join forces in peace together, just to stop him. I can so see your Mad Scientist going all Umbrella Corp on us.
Boy, now you got me wanting to write something like this!
