I think the layout is done – watch for regular posts coming soon!

I’m liking this purple 3-column layout that it showing right now and I think it’s the one I’m going to go with.

Okay, so I’ll be adding the cat photos down the side tonight, and hopefully you will soon see and end to the “test posts” and the “real” posts you were waiting for will start showing up in a day or two.

I’m ganna go out and look for a few blog meme’s to get me in the habit of writing daily for this my newest blog, and as usual, if you want to read ALL of my blog posts off ALL on my blogs in one place, the posts off of this newest blog will be exported to my huge, very ancient, (now 8 years old and with 8,000+ posts!) “big blog” EK’s Star Log @ http://eelkat.wordpress.com

>Posting a lot of test posts for a few days, while I tweak the layout of this brand new blog!

>If you are a reader of my other blogs, than you are probably expecting to see my signature mega-long-winded posts showing up soon. Don’t worry, they will come. Right now I am focusing on getting this blog set up, and yes, I am still posting over on my other 50+ blogs, so it’s going to take a wee bit of time to get this new blog up and running. You all know how obsessive I am about getting the layout designed and coded and edited before I start doing my posting, so just sit back and hold your horses for a few days while I get my floor plans laid out. I’m not sure what I want this place to look like yet and it takes me a few months to write up new codes so you’ll be seeing a lot of color and background changes for a week or so, and I’ll be moving the links and side bars around and over all getting this place looking the way I want it to look. I’ll be posting a lot of test posts for a few days, maybe a few weeks, while I tweak the layout of this brand new blog!

I plan to start doing my regular posting late this summer around August 2012, so watch for this place to come alive around than. In the mean time I’ll post a few links to my Zazzle Shops and my art, just so I can have a few posts on here while I’m editing, because I’m going to need a few posts here so I can work on getting things lined up straight and all.

Look forward to getting blogging soon. Please come back in a few weeks to see how things are going.

Thanks for stopping by!

What is the difference between a preface, a foreword and an introduction?

What is the difference between a preface, a foreword and an introduction? I love them and always read them, but what are they? Here’s the way I see it:

I always thought of the introduction as interchangable with the author’s notes; in other words a few words by the author on the hows and whys behind what inspired them to write the book

The preface is usually a quick introduction to the story (also written by the author) and is usually a chapter of the story, which takes place before the story, in order to set the mood of the story

And the forward, usually is an introduction that was written by someone famous (another author, a movie star… or in the case of my uncle’s book some one like Pres. Bill Clinton). The forward usualy talks about that person’s views on the book and is often used to promote the book by being included in press releases.

What’s your take on this? I’d love to hear what you have to say about this post. Leave a comment and share your views!
