Many young Witches and those new to Witchcraft actively seek out spellbooks and recipes for spells and hexs,only to be deeply disapointed at the fact that actual written and published spells are few and far between,and the only ones they can easily find are written by crackpot writters looking for a quick buck and although claiming to be Witches,know very little about actual Witchcraft and have never in their lives cast a real spell and never plan too. These high polluting “secret” spells of mystery and “dark shadows” supposedly “taken from ancient grimoirs” involve such strange things as: standing naked in the light of the third full moon after Aries enters Venus and pouring a select mixture of rare and exotic herbs,that you had handpicked earlier picked at midnight in a graveyard on the first full moon after Libra entered Mercury, into a cauldron that was forged by a secret sect of preists by the light of the new moon in a mine on some distant sacred mountain in Ireland on the seventh Sunday after Leo entered Neptune,and than chanting “magick words” three times backwards-the next day you are to sneak this mixture into the drink of the spell’s intended victim-without them seeing you-,which they then must drink at exactly noon-no sooner,no later,or it won’t work and you’ll have to do this whole thing all over again! Many of these poor uninformed young Witches try these hairbrained spells,only to have them not work. They then write to the author of the book asking what went wrong,only to recieve a nasty letter telling them that either they didn’t follow the spell exactly to the letter and didn’t time everything to the exact second or they are just not “magickaly inclinded” and will never be able to cast a spell ever. The author has to say things like this because he/she is busy working on thier next fad book (which surprisingly is under another pen name and is about flying airplanes and how they are a life long pilot from a long line of piolits,and in the book before that they were a life-long circus preformer born and raised in the circus,and if you study into this author’s background you’ll find that he/she has several pen names and that each differant pen name is an experte life-long some-or-other; welcome to the would of writting for profit!) This in a load of horse shit and if you ever find a spellbook like this,don’t waste your money. The most important thing to remember when casting spells is that no spell ever works in exactly the same way twice,simply because no two situations requireing a spell will be exactly the same;each person involved is a uniquie indevidual who will act and respond differantly;every herb,crystal,and candle is uniquie and although simalar,two of the exact same item will each act differantly-one rose quartz may give off more energy than another, one bay leaf may be more potant than another. Other things to take into consideration include:the weather,the time of day,and the season-some herbs are powerful when heated,others work better when wet;a strong wind may blow your smudge smoke the wrong way,the oil you used may have been too old (oils only last about six months before loseing their potenetcy),maybe you were told that your stone was a Sardonyx but it is actuly a Red Banded Agate (you just couldn’t imagine how often gemstones get mixed up-even scientists get stones of simalar apperance mixed up and can’t tell one from another without a chemicle test),your store bought incense may have been misslabled (it happens-and it happens quite often-the only sure way to know what is in your incense is to make it yourself),but most often the cause of the problem is the wrong spell was used for the wrong situation. For example: the number one most requested spell is a love spell,binding your lover to you forever-there is no such spell,but people try to invent “spells” that they claim will do this. To make such a spell they usualy combine a spell for binding love with a spell for attracting love. A spell for binding love-binds just as it says-love is bound and you can never find it. By combining the ingrediants of binding love with those for attracting love you end up voiding out both spells and acomplishing absolutely nothing,but driving away people who already love you..
In spite of all the ingrediants you need to preform a spell the most important ingregiant is your own faith and the the faith of your client. If you don’t believe the spell will work,than don’t bother to try it because it won’t. The power of your mind is much more than anything you could ever imagine-most call it faith,some call it negative and positive imaging or the power of positive (or negative) thinking,some call it channeling,and some call it astral projection,but whatever you call it,it is very powerful and it alone can make or break a spell,it has the power to heal the sick or raise the dead-faith is the main ingrediate used in all spells. Faith in yourself,faith in the spell,faith in the ingrediants,and most of all faith in the Creator of all life.
Now you say to yourself :”but I do have faith,I just can’t find the right spell…”. Okay than-improvise,make your own spell. I know,you don’t think you can make up your own spells,but you know what?-somebody had to makw the spell. Now,don’t just go out and throw any old thing together-that simply won’t work at all. First of all you must know what each ingrediant is used for,why it is used,and how it is used. This requires alot of hard work and alot very seriouse dedicated studying-think of it as studying for a combined science and history exam in high school but on a college level,with alot of Latin thrown in-because that’s exactly what it is. It’ll take a long time and alot of hard work,but once you know what each ingrediant is used for,there is no limit to the spells that you can make yourself. Don’t feel that you must go by a spellbook-fact is,the only Witches who ever actualy use a spellbook are the ones you see on T.V. Real live Witches don’t very often use spellbooks-that’s why you will have such a hard time finding spellbooks at your local bookstore. Witches of all types from all around the world at any point in history always have one thing in common when it comes to making spells: they know the land around them-they know each and every plant by name,and they know how to use each part of each plant too. This knowledge of plants was passed down from mother to daughter,from grandmother to grand-daughter,from father to son,from grandfather to grandson. These traditions were originaly passed down and kept alive by the old ones of the tribes.
In today’s society,healing spells and other rituals are no longer passed down from one generation to the next,so how does one go about gaining this knowledge? Well,there are a few books out there that will help you,and I have listed several in the back of this book-and no they aren’t spellbooks,they are sceince and medical textbooks that deal with such things as herbal,crystal,and spiritual healing (see Recomended Reading). To help you get started,I have included a list of common spells and the ingrediants most often called for for each one. (You can also find more information on the use of the indevidual ingrediants in the following chapters: Gemstones,Animals,Fragrances, Herbs,Candles,Colors).
You will notice that unlike other “spellbooks” on the market,I have not included any special “chants”,magic words and phrases,or “secret” ritual movements or dance steps here. Although I do believe that words,chants,and movments are very powerful and are an essential part of any spell,I also believe that no word or set of words is right for any one spell every time you use the spell. (For more information on words in spells,see Chants and Affermations).
Some other things that modern spellbooks include that you will also find are not included here are such current fad trends,as the ever so popular “moon phases”,sun charts,star charts,constilation movment lists,lucky stars,lucky numbers,magick days,magick(witching)hours,good luck charms,tailesmin,amulets,and the “matching” zodiac signs and elaments (earth,wind,air,fire,metal) . These items are of much contraversy in the Witch world today-many white American teen Witches and Wiccas swear by them,as do most T.V. and 1-900-Psychic hot-lines phsychics, however,very few Witches outside of the United States use these things-most have never even heard of them;and an interesting thing to note here is that not a single State certifided,licensed,professional Witch with a public office and clinic,uses these technequies either!(remember a real Witch is a combination herbalist,doctor,psychic, nutricinst,psycologist,scientist,and spiritual advisor-they are doctors who heal people by the means of healing the whole body-spirit,mind,and body-through natural and spiritual means-Witches are not tricksters,gansters,fashion models,or bullies out there to put curses on people,to play pranks on people,dress cooler than other people,or any of the other things that television likes to potray modern day “teen-witches” as. None of the things mentioned above can be proven by spiritual or medical science and even psuedo-science can’t prove them as being effective,and that is why you will not find a real Witch with a real ligitamet practice who uses them,and that is why you will not find them here in this book either.
I am writting this book for those of you who have choosen to become real Witches,devoting your life full time to healing others mentaly,physicaly,and spiritualy. This book is not intended for those of you who are fairy-land Witches that floated in out of Mother Goose and Hollywood. This book is not written for children and teenagers who don’t realy know what they want in life or those who are just rebleing or experimenting with Witchcraft,nor should it be used by inexperianced children and teenagers. If you are an “experimenting” Witch-wanna-be please do not attempt any of the following spells at all; and even if you really are a real Witch’s apprentice,Witch in training,or other type of practicing Witch,do not attempt any of these spells without the supervision of either a State certifed Witch/herbalist and/or your family doctor. It can not be overstated that many of the ingrediants (herbs) listed in the following spells are highly toxic,posionous,and in some states classified as illegal drugs-these are not the fancy-pants,fairy-tale spells that you see on T.V. or find in “trendy-spellbooks for teenage Witches”,these are real medicians and if used inproperly they are often fatal. Proceed at your own risk.
The following list of spells also contains a list of ailments and their commonly used treatments, including herbs, tinctures,oils,compresses,homeopathy pills,recipes,etc.Many of these things I use myself and for my pets. To date I have had over 1000 various assorted pets,all of whom have been treated using various methods in this book, including those listed here-herbs,crystal healing,spells,vodun poppets,affirmation,etc. As I work mainly with birds, mostly exotic,rare breed roosters,this list reflects that as is contains items listed specificly and only for birds-bear in mind that a birds motablisim is markedly differant from a mammal’s(human’s),and while spells that can be used on mammals can also be used on birds-spells listed as “for birds” can be used only for birds and should never be used on mammal’s. I have also worked with farm animals(exotic roosters are classified as hand raised jungle fowl or game cocks hatched in captivity and are not the typical farm type of domestic poultry found on your average farm nor should they be confussed with domestic breeds of roosters),domestic pets,and injured wild wildlife as well. My roosters stand today as proof that the ancient methods of natural healing work wonders: with a domestic rooster’s typical expected life span being three to five years,my roosters live ten to fifteen years on average-my oldest to date having died of old age at twenty-three. I do remind you to keep in mind however,that treating anyone-human or animal-is a very dangerous thing to undertake on your own. It is neither a game nor a hobby,it is a very seriouse matter of life and death. If you should miss-diagnose,you could cause serious often perminant,crippleing damage, even death. Not all ailments are as easily diagnosed as one may assume. Allways seek the advice of a physician (or veterinarian) before you begin trying to treat anyone; make sure that you have correctly diagnosed the ailment,that you have chosen the correct treatment for the individual situation,and that your patient is not allergic to your chosen treatment.
Also,do not ignore that fact that,although Witchcraft may help ease the pain and suffering from them,there are some diseases,such as hay fever,asthma,cancer,high blood pressure,epilepsy,appendicits,and kidney failure (just to name a few),should never be treated on your own at home without the help of your family physisian. In cases like these,surgery and modern medicain should be sought out first,foremost,and immediately and should only be supplimented with Witchcraft during the long road to recovery. I know this from sad experiance,as my beloved grandmother,died from breast cancer that progressed to liver cancer as three long pain filled years slowly passed. She had refused the help of doctors and all forms of modern medicain,relying instead entirely on the old ways,and could not be convinced otherwise. She recived surgery only after becoming bedridden and forced against her will to recieve medical treatment at the very end; but it was too,little too late. Please,for the sakes of your friends and family,don’t make the same mistake my grandmother did-if you susspect hay fever,asthma,cancer,high blood pressure,appendicits,kidney failure,or any other seriouse life-threatening disease,don’t delay to get the help of “traditional modern medicain” ,just like Witches and other natural healers,hospital doctors are there because they want to help you-don’t wait until it’s too late.
Below is an explaination as to how to read the chart which follows.Any ingrediant that is underlined like this, is the most powerful and therefor most likely ingrediant to work for that particular catigory of that particular spell. Any ingrediant that is italicized like this or that is underlined and italicized like this is known to be highly toxic and possibly fatal and should not be used without a qualified physician present and a prepared antidote ready in cases the spell goes bad-when useing any herbs that are italicized always work close to a phone,have the Posion Control and your local Ambulance numbers with you,and be ready to call for help
Name/Use: name of spell /what it’s used for/ailment this spell helps
Aromatheropy: fragrances,and incense only-aromas are used to affect the mind and trigger a mental, spiritual,and/or physical response in either the spell caster and/or the spell reciever-these are often used to scent or annoint candles,alter clothes,pillows,handkercheifs,sachets,medician bags,incense burning, smudgeing,ect,and to fill the room and atmospher with their aroma; these herbs,powders, and oils are often also used to add fragrance to massage oils,bath oils, bath salts,soaps,shampoos,moisterizors,creams, lotions,cosmetics,and other health and beauty products. Another way to use aromatheropy is to grow the actual plants,in or around your house. These herbs are generaly considered safe for use by anyone as a fragrance or aroma,but should be used with caution around those with allergies,hay fever,and athsma.
Color(s): colors are used to affect the mind and trigger a mental,spiritual,and/or physical response in either the spell caster and/or the spell reciever; colors can be incorperated into a spell with any of the following:clothen,robes,capes,candles,alter cloths,colored prayer beads,curtains, floor cloth,pillows,or anything else; a quick way to incorperate a color into your spell is to focus on a sheet of colored paper when meditating; you can also use other items such as colored stones, marbles,floist’s glass globs,blown glass Christmas ornaments,or a small stained glass suncatcher; another way to incorperate color is though plants,flowers,and bouquets. Color theropy is nearly always safe to be used by anyone,however very rear intances have occered that resulted in seizures and convulsions,due to a distubacne in brain wave patterns caused by prolonged exsposure to certain colors,patterns,and lights–use color theropy with caution when working with anyone that suffers from frequent headaches,migrains,dizziness,fainting spells,blood shot eyes,eye strain,sudden blurred vision,sore eyes,seizures,convulsions,epilepsy, or any other such symptoms.
Fruit: nutraceutical foods (fresh food/Class 1 or Class 2 herbs used and prescribed for it’s pharmecudical/ medicinal value) to be eaten and/or used externaly; fruit contain variouse vitamin, minerals, and other nutriants that affect the body and help to promote healing,some trigger healing responces in certain areas of the body;it is best that your patiant/client eat/use the fruit fresh,but canned,dried,frozen, sauce,or juice can all be used as well, if there is no fresh fruit avalable; in most cases the fruit can also be mashed and used as an ingredinat for a lotion,cream,compress,poultice,soap,or other potion to be applyed to the skin
Gemstone(s): all stones,rocks,and crystals give off and/or absorb the earth’s gravitational magnetic energy;each stone attracts differant kinds of energy that will affect the out come of your spell; for more information as to what each stone is used for,please see Gemstones on page…..; use the stones for making prayer beads,place a stone inside of a poppet,place the stone on the area of the body that needs healing,or just hold it in your hand
Herb(s): Class 2 or Class 3 pharmicudical and/or medicial herbs,not botanical/woody stemed herbs-these are to be used externaly only; herbs may be flowers,fruit,seeds,leaves,bark,stem,rhiozoms,or roots; dry or fresh herbs and/or oils or powders are used to make lotions, creams,massage oils,poultice, compresses,linaments,bath oils,bath salts,and other such potions that are rubbed into or applyed on to the skin,usualy at the sight of the pain when used for healing; these can also be used same as for aromatheropy. –for more information on herbal safety the American Herbal Products Association (AHPA) has published the Botanical Safety Handbook which lists all herbs approved as safe and legal for consumer use in the United States,they list herbs by the following national standard of classification:
Class 1: Herbs that can be safely consumed when used apppropriatly.
Class 2: Herbs for which the following restiction apply:
2a: For external use only.
2b: Not to be used during pregnancy.
2c: Not to be used while nursing.
2d: Other specific restiction apply.
Class 3: Herbs for which significant data exist to recommend to be used only under the supervision of an expert qualified in the appropriate use of this substance.
Class 4: Insufficoent data available for classification of this herb.
Tea: Class 1,Class 2b,Class 2c,or Class 3 pharmicudical and/or medicial herbs,not botanical/woody stemed herbs that can be taken internaly (eaten,cooked in recipes,or teas),and are most easily ingested by steeping in hot water for fifteen minutes than drinking the liquid; these herbs can also be spinkled into your food,or if your dislike the taste of them,most health food stores sell them in pill form to be taken like vitamins; all herbs in this list can also be used externaly,as those listed above,and many can also be used for aromatheropy . –for more information on herbal safety the American Herbal Products Association (AHPA) has published the Botanical Safety Handbook which lists all herbs approved as safe and legal for consumer use in the United States,they list herbs by the following national standard of classification:

Vitamins: vitamins pill suplements that help to trigger the bodies natural healing responces for that paticular ailment
Other: all other things that don’t fall under the above catigories,includeing warning and advise
*Always remember that all herbs,no matter how safe someone tells you they are,can be deadly when used improperly. With some you may have to take large amounts over a long period of time before they become toxic,but more often it only takes the tiniest amount to kill you: such as with Jimsoneed-a single tiny seed from this highly toxic plant will kill you within minutes-you will not have time to call out for help,as you will be dead. Remember to that each part of each plant has a differant level of toxidity-while the leaves of a plant may be harmless,it’s roots may be deadly,or visa-versa. Always check with your doctor before trying any healing technquie on yourself or on your clients-most states require a written statement from your client’s doctor before you can give them any type of healing advise,no matter how well it worked for any one else. Also keep in mind that nearly all herbs,ect. are too strong (often deadly) to be used for babies and small children-if children under twelve must be treated with herbs,use them very sparingly and always know the 1-800 number for your states Posion Control. If you are going to be working with any herb,no matter how mild,you should have the Posion Control’s 1-800 number memorized and in your head at all times-just in case.
* Do not be fooled by the common sale’s pitch that Chamomile is a “gentle” herb and can “safely be used by all”. Although Chamomile is generaly considered to be a “totally safe” herb,and is often promoted and sold as “gentle and safe for everyone”,it is in fact dangerously lethal and is actually one of the most deadly of all herbs. If it is taken by someone suffering from hay fever (an allergic to ragweed and plant pollen) or asthma,chamomile can cause a servere allergic reaction,resulting in death in a matter of minutes. People with hay fever or asthma should avoid chamomile at all costs, as chamomile is just another name for ragweed-and is actually the very plant that causes hay fever and seriously agrivates asthma. Please beware when drinking,serving,or prescribing the seemingly harmless chamomile tea,as it is often a fatal toxin to a person with allergies.
Another dangerouse and little known fact about Chamomile is that it is an abortifacient,in fact it is one of the most “prescibed” and commonly used “abortion pills” used by medical doctors in hospitals and abotion clinics today to terminate a pregnacy without surgery.
* Pregnant women should not use any herb,spice,incense,fragrance oil,or essential oil in any way,either internally or externaly,without first checking with her doctor,as many herbs that will heal an adult,are harmful or even deadly for unborn babies. The following list of Class 2b,Class 2c,and Class 3 herbs,spices,and fragrances are known to contribute to birth defects,miscarriage,and/or other complications to the baby and/or mother and should not be used by any pregnant women for any reason at all under any circumstanses, this includes cooking with or eating food that contains these herbs and spices: (Also any herb that should not be used by pregnant women,should also be avoided by all men and women alike who are suffering from high blood pressure,diverticulitis, heart problems,urinary tract disorders, gastrointestonal disorders,anorexia,hyperactivity,AIDS,tuberculosis,epilepsy,liver disease, kidney disease,diabetes,ulcers,and some forms of cancer,and all women with any type of uterine infection,those useing “the pill”,and all those taking hormone suppliments made from animal products . These should also be avoided by breastfeeding mothers, infants,and all children under the age of 12 unless your doctor says otherwise. It should also be noted that all herbs that are abortifacient~cause abortion/misscarriage~will not only kill an unborn baby,but will also kill all children under 8 years old.)

Eat and drink such an exact Quantity as the Constitution of thy Body allows of, in reference to the Services of the Mind.
They that study much, ought not to eat so much as those that work hard, their Digestion being not so good.
The exact Quantity and Quality being found out, is to be kept to constantly.
Excess in all other Things whatever, as well as in Meat and Drink, is also to be avoided.
Youth, Age, and Sick require a different Quantity.
And so do those of contrary Complexions; for that which is too much for a flegmatick Man, is not sufficient for a Cholerick.
The Measure of Food ought to be (as much as possibly may be) exactly proportionable to the Quality and Condition of the Stomach, because the Stomach digests it.
That Quantity that is sufficient, the Stomach can perfectly concoct and digest, and it sufficeth the due Nourishment of the Body.
A greater Quantity of some things may be eaten than of others, some being of lighter Digestion than others.
The Difficulty lies, in finding out an exact Measure; but eat for Necessity, not Pleasure, for Lust knows not where Necessity ends.
Wouldst thou enjoy a long Life, a healthy Body, and a vigorous Mind, and be acquainted also with the wonderful Works of God? labour in the first place to bring thy Appetite into Subjection to Reason.
Rules to find out a fit Measure of Meat and Drink.
If thou eatest so much as makes thee unfit for Study, or other Business, thou exceedest the due Measure.
If thou art dull and heavy after Meat, it’s a sign thou hast exceeded the due Measure; for Meat and Drink ought to refresh the Body, and make it chearful, and not to dull and oppress it.
If thou findest these ill Symptoms, consider whether too much Meat, or too much Drink occasions it, or both, and abate by little and little, till thou findest the Inconveniency removed.
Keep out of the Sight of Feasts and Banquets as much as may be; for ’tis more difficult to refrain good Cheer, when it’s present, than from the Desire of it when it is away; the like you may observe in the Objects of all the other Senses.
If a Man casually exceeds, let him fast the next Meal, and all may be well again, provided it be not too often done; as if he exceed at Dinner, let him refrain a Supper, &c.
A temperate Diet frees from Diseases; such are seldom ill, but if they are surprised with Sickness, they bear it better, and recover sooner; for most Distempers have their Original from Repletion.
Use now and then a little Exercise a quarter of an Hour before Meals, as to swing a Weight, or swing your Arms about with a small Weight in each Hand; to leap, or the like, for that stirs the Muscles of the Breast.
A temperate Diet arms the Body against all external Accidents; so that they are not so easily hurt by Heat, Cold or Labour; if they at any time should be prejudiced, they are more easily cured, either of Wounds, Dislocations or Bruises.
But when malignant Fevers are rife in the Country or City where thou dwelst, ’tis adviseable to eat and drink more freely, by Way of Prevention; for those are Diseases that are not caused by Repletion, and seldom attack Full-feeders.
A sober Diet makes a Man die without Pain; it maintains the Senses in Vigour; it mitigates the Violence of Passions and Affections.
It preserves the Memory, it helps the Understanding, it allays the Heat of Lust; it brings a Man to a Consideration of his latter End; it makes the Body a fit Tabernacle for the Lord to dwell in; which makes us happy in this World, and eternally happy in the World to come, through Jesus Christ our Lord and Saviour.
How few there are who have courage enough to own their Faults, or resolution enough to mend them!

If you are under 18 years old always have the permission and supervision of a responalble adult. And no matter how young or old or experianced you may be ALWAYS,work close to a phone and have the numbers of your local police,ambulance,fire-department,hospital, the Poison Control Center,and your family physician close at hand.
For those of you who live in Maine,911,is the emergancy number in most areas and will conect you to the police,ambulance,and fire department-just tell the dispatcher which one you are calling. In most towns in Maine the non-emergancy number is you town number,with the last digit repeated,followed by 911– (example: Old Orchard Beach is 934-4911). Some very rural towns,forest districts,and of course those towns that do not yet have phone lines,do not use the 911 system yet,so be sure to find out if your town does have this system in place. I believe that most all of the other states are useing the 911 emergancy system,but be sure to find out,just in case you live in one of the places that doesn’t have it.

To find out your local Poison Control number, check your local phone book and look under “bussiness listings-your state’s name”-followed by-”State of ….Poison Control/Information./Center”. Always make sure that you have the curent number,you never know when they may decide to change it.
